Enhancing Your Connection Performance
DaDesktop may sometimes alert you when your connection shows high latency (delay), which can hurt performance.
If this happens, try the suggestions below to improve your connection.
Steps to take
- If you can, use a wired Ethernet connection. On Wi‑Fi, run a speed test beforehand (e.g., speedtest.net) to see your current speeds.
- Stay close to your wireless access point whenever possible. Choose 5 GHz Wi‑Fi over 2.4 GHz – the 2.4 GHz band is often slower and picks up interference more easily.
- Turn off any VPNs or proxies before joining the course.
- If feasible, disable security applications that may conflict with your network, as they can introduce delays.
-
You might need to contact your company’s IT support, especially if content filtering or network policies are affecting your experience.
Whitelisting these domains can help: –
1. https://\*.npg.io (eg any host at .npg.io )
2. https://dd4t.dadesktop.com - Avoid large downloads or uploads during the course – for example, pause Windows/Mac/Linux updates until it finishes.
-
Your internet speed should be above: “10 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload”
