Creating Organisations
Usually, when you sign up, an organisation is automatically created that shares your username.
Sometimes, creating a fresh Organisation can be helpful—for instance, using a company name when multiple employees from the same business use DaDesktop.
Note: Only Super Admins have the ability to create new organisations.
Setting Up Organisations in DaDesktop
Two methods exist for creating an organisation: the default option creates both the organisation and its owner account simultaneously, while the alternative approach allows you to create an organisation without needing a separate owner account, which is handy if the owner account already exists.
Creating an Organisation and Its Owner Account Together
- You’ll need to provide the account owner’s email, password, and first and last names. Roles can be assigned as needed. The default currency is based on the portal you’re using — dadesktop.com picks EUR, for example, while dadesktop.cn defaults to CNY.
- The Organization name is mandatory, along with a short code. Keep the code concise, and bear in mind that it’s permanent after creation.
- The Allowing course recordings and publishing options apply globally to every recording across the organisation. The same goes for the Receiving Promotional Emails setting — it affects the whole organisation at once.
- The 'Allow Recordings' option controls whether Recordings can be used throughout the entire organisation, here in Greece.
- If needed, you can pick Private servers. Just remember that a server must first be designated as ‘Private’ before it appears as an option here.
